Suncoast Safety Council Letter

Re: Standard Enforcement Law for Safety Belts
Dear Representative Nehr:
The Suncoast Safety Council, Inc. supports the enactment of a Standard Enforcement law for safety belts as written in HB27 and SB484. A standard enforcement law in Florida would save lives and reduce serious injuries for many.
We are committed and collectively work with others to educate Floridians on the impact of traffic crashes with unrestrained motorists, and safeguard our roads. If enacted, we will see a dramatic reduction in crash related injuries and fatalities as shown by other states that have adopted the standard enforcement of safety belt usage.
The cost to Florida in the lives of its citizens and the long-term medical expenses of the injured is unacceptable. Please join our work in making our roads safer for everyone by supporting HB27.
Regards,
KIMBERLY JOWELL
